95me29, May Allay reward you for speaking the truth. My Apologise for losing my patience and treating you (uhyhuy) with the same treatment you were/are giving Hamza Yusuf. It was not justified. Not to excuse me of my lack of adab, but I would still like to remind you that I started off with adab and only lost it when you continued on your rampage.  Apologise once again. Secondly, you still have done nothing to PROVE your points. The only part worthy of my reply to your above post is the paragraph where you address hamza yusuf’s infamous visit to the white house. I will ask you again, for the third time...Did you hear Hamza Yusuf, from his own mouth justify the war on Iraq and Afghanistan??? No You did not. So quit acting all emotional. If anyone is to have an emotional stance is myself. I am of afghani origin. I was born in Kabul. I still have MANY MANY family members all around Afghanistan and some even in Qandaar (Kandahar) which is now almost FLAT thanks to the American Bombings. So like you, I was very hurt to see a sheikh, whom I respect VERY MUCH accept Bush’s invitation. But UNLIKE YOU, I DID NOT  judge him. Once I heard his multiple clarifications of the situation and more specifically of exactly what he told Bush and his administration...I applied the Islamic injunction of giving him the benefit of the doubt. Is that wrong? I dare you to prove to me from any verse of the Quran that what I did was wrong and islamically unjustified and instead that i should’ve attacked him and publicly tarnished his honour without verifying the news. When Hamza Yusuf says that he spoke for 3 hours with Bush and they have only made public 3 minutes or so of what he said, that should tell you something. I am very much aware of the concept of Al waraa wal baraa. Please point me exactly to the ayah you want me to read and I will follow it up. I have Ibn Kathir’s tafsir, Qurtubi’s tafsir (which is a more judicial and fiqhi tafsir so it will be very useful for this discussion) and many more. Just point me to the verse. You have not provided any evidences from the Quran or Sunnah to back up your claims. In Summary, you are claiming: i) It is ok to tarnish the honour and publicly attack with the intention to expose a sheikh WITHOUT verifying the news and checking with him. I dare any reader to prove to me that the above position is islamically justified. Ma’sallamah.
